When you think of athletes moving on from college to the pros you often think of those top 10 draft picks, but it's usually those hidden gems who sprout to be big names. This is exactly what we see happening with former Utah Ute, and LBP alum Kaelin Clay. Kaelin started his college career at University of Cal Berkeley where he didnt get quite what he wanted, so he took his talents to Mt. San Antonio City College (Mt. Sac) where he had a monster 2013 season getting 995yds, and 16 touchdowns in just 11 games. After that the Utes saw the potential the Jr wide out had, and offered him a scholarship, and from then on was his time to shine. He had 523yds on 43rec in his colossal 2014 season with the Utes not to mention the 346yds, and 3 touchdowns on punt returns, and 548yds, and 1 touchdown on kick return. After ending his senior year with a bang Clay became apart of what is once every young athletes dream, he was drafted in the 6th round (184th overall) by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Clay is a true testament that you can achieve anything you really put your mind to, and that success isn't always a direct path, but a path full of trials, and tribulations that you learn from, and build on till eventually your hard work and dedication propels you right to the success you so desire. Clay currently is with the Detroit Lions where he is looking to solidify a spot on their roster, and make some noise in the National Football League.
