In 2013 a 17yr old from New Jersey by the name of Matt Rivera dropped everything he had, and left the east coast to start a life in the LBC. For an adult to make such a drastic move is crazy in itself, but for someone so young to make the decision to pack up, and start a new life on the opposite coast is just insane! At age 18, after moving into an apartment in Downtown Long Beach Matt decided to create a brand which at first was just something he shared with his friends, but now Matt has a plan, and nothing will get in the way of his vision. Trippy Culture is who Matt is, it's his struggle, his journey, and his overall way of living expressed through clothing. Inspired by drugs, sports, photography, and street wear as a whole Trippy Culture is Matt's way of bringing his west coast side, and east coast side together. He wants the people to be inspire people to keep creating, and never be afraid to get outside of your comfort zone, but also to never forget who you are, and where you come from. TC released their first cut and sew collection called "The Warm-Up" which features a long sleeve baseball jersey, and a short sleeve henley style tee both of which are FIRE!!! Excited to say the least for their next two releases which will both come in limited quantities so I suggest you follow them on IG, and keep an eye out for their next drop! Check out "The Warm-Up" collection below modeled by local rapper E-Ham, and Houston University PG Chyanne Butler

Styled by Kaizen
Nicole White is a strong, care-free, independent, business-minded woman who is determined to influence the fashion industry. At 21yrs old White has started up her own online thrift store "Blazin' Kaizen", and she also is a stylist for those in need of help with picking a style for a prom, wedding, photoshoot, or any other upcoming events. Fashion has been an interest of hers for a while now, but White prefers to have style over being fashionable. "Fashion changes, but style stays the same" White says "No one can tell you what to wear or how to dress if you have style it's all about your flavor." White draws inspiration from stylist June Ambrose and her TV show where she styled people. She loved the reactions she saw from the people being styled, and realized that was definitely something she was capable of doing, and is now on her way to making a dream reality. Fashion wise White loves The Olsen twins, and Rihanna's fashion sense "They bring more then just fashion they bring style!" Said the aspiring stylist. White plans to eventually open up a location for her thrift store, and help organize other black owned businesses. We're all for more black business here so she definitely has our support on that! We love what she has going one because we see the passion, but also because she has been able to keep focused, and work even harder through the loss of her mom. White takes pride in believing her mother is watching her every step of the way on her road to success! Check out her site linked below, and see if you see something you'd be interested in!

Long Beach Clothing Co.
The 3rd, and most important staple of streetwear culture in The Beach, Long Beach Clothing Company has been unifying, and representing the city for 5 years! With heavy support from the public, and different big names like Daz, actor Ricky Harris, local boxer Malcolm Mcallister, and Mr. Long Beach himself Snoop Dogg repping them heavily it's easy to see why they've been so successful. Location also has something to do with their success being that they are right in the heart of Bixby Knolls it's perfect, because they have a constant flow of people in the store throughout the week. Especially on days like "First Friday's" where the streets are flooded with the cities residents checking out the local shops and businesses on display! Haven't heard of any plans of an expansion, but they are currently working on an online shop which will be up and running very soon! Click the link to their site below, and register your email so you can know when their website is up, and follow them on Instagram as well!
