R&B From Westside of LB

21yr old Westside Long Beach resident Neen is a R&B singer who has an interesting fascination with donuts. He has been singing all his life, and actually has quite a few performances in the LB, and LA area under his belt. Neen loves to sing because the music allows him to paint pictures with harmonies, and melodies. He is currently focused on perfecting his craft, and trying to branding himself. Neen wants to become very successful in the music industry! He ultimately wants the world to hear his voice, and his fascination with sugary pastries to become synonymous with his music. Whenever you think of donuts you should think of Neen. He's obviously been doing something right thus far based off the love he gets on Instagram, and co-sign via Snapchat from R&B singer Kehlani. The Invention of Sound

Could you imagine a world without sound? Yeah us either! So today we've decided to dedicate an entire article to The Invention of Sound. No! No! No! Not literally! The local band! The Invention of Sound is made up of 3 Whittier high school students named John, Sebastian, and Jonathan who are focused on keeping the music as real as possible, while creating their own sound. They draw inspiration from the works of classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin, and The Beatles, as well as contemporary artists like Ty Segall, Drenge, and Deftones. Although they are influenced by these other bands the bulk of their inspiration comes right from their name. As The inventor of sound their agenda is to continue to push the envelope, and find new ways to express themselves through well.....Sound. The band has been together since December, and are currently in the beginning stages of making their first album! Each member has their own solo projects already so this isn't their first rodeo, but a joint project is a lot different then releasing solo so they're taking their time with it trying to make sure everything is right. The Invention of Sound is looking to get themselves out their a little more trying to book a couple shows, and release their album as well as other projects. Until we get some more updated content check out their demo on Soundcloud! We strongly recommend "Beautiful Losers" or "Hectic" both sound really good, and if they're any indication of where this band is headed they have a bright future ahead of them!

Comptons Gmac & Tdot Team Up For "23" Visual

Gmac, and T-dot are simply trying to get in the game, and do it big like Chicago Bulls great Michael Jordan. With the way they killed the beat it's safe to say that is a strong possibility! The visual features Gmac giving us a preview of his skills on the court, both artist turning up with a group in a sneaker boutique, tons of energy and dancing (both hype & provocative), a few clips of MJ being MJ, and a very athletic young man taking it hard to the paint! The dynamic duo is back at it again! Keilo, and Famous Far linked up for another hit entitled "Get Paid" with a super dope, and high energy video shot by Edub. We actually attended a roof top concert where the two performed this song for the first time, and the roof literally almost caved in. White OVO 12s Coming This Summer

With 2 days until his highly anticipated album "Views From The 6" drops, and the recent uproar of news of a Drake and Future "Summer Sixteen" tour Drake has decided to drop another bombshell on us revealing that the white colorway of the OVO 12s will drop some time this summer! With the beautiful off white upper, gold accents, and gold sparkling "OVO" stamp on the sole you can expect the same hype the black pair received if not more depending on total inventory. Drake is seriously on a mission, and at this point we don't see what more this man could possibly do, but we sure can tell you one thing Drizzy is playing no games, and is prepared to stay on top all summer sixteen, and for many summers to come! We've been waiting for Keilo to give us some new heat, and he definetley didn't disappoint. As promised Joey Fatts released a new visual for his latest track "Farrakhan" featuring Long Beach brethren Vince Staples! Staples showed his more dapper side, whereas Fatts kept it street. Both rappers still heavily displaying their crip affiliation throughout the track. If you like the single then you'll definitely enjoy the visual!

KhyreePalm is another rapper out of Long Beach, but he's not just another rapper out of Long Beach. Going 4 years strong Khyree is continuing to grow as an artist, and perfect his sound. He draws inspiration for his music from artist such as Pharrell, Kendrick, and Usher, and classifies his sound as fun, and inspiring. Khyree makes music for those who are chasing a dream, and believe they can achieve anything in life. He currently has a project out entitled "Summer" that can be found on Audiomack, and Soundcloud, and hopes to release another project this summer. Cedar Lane Sounds

Donzelly is a North side resident, and the creator of Cedar Lane Sounds (CLS) which he is a rapper under. Now 20 years old Donzelly has been rapping since the age of 16, and he plans to use rap as a platform to build up his brand CLS, and make it a legit company. He has definitely been putting on for his brand releasing nothing, but dope tracks this year like  "Word of Mouth", "Damn Right", "Turning Point", and his recently released Palm freestyle. He even informed us of a 6 track EP he will be releasing produced by his in house producer Brizzy Lo. Expect a lot more music from Donzelly as well as more from the CLS brand as a whole! Briss Dont Miss

Rapper Huey Briss is easily the most interesting, and hungry rapper coming up out of the LBC right now! He know what he wants, he has his goals set, and there is not a doubt in his mind that he will achieve said goals. Briss has been recording since the age of 18, and gives credit to artist like Blowfly, George Clinton, Eminem and most shocking on the list J-Kwon. He grew up listening to Blowfly, and Clinton with his dad, and then he moved to a Navy base in Virginia with his mom where the only albums he listened to were J-Kwon's "Hood Hop" album, and "Infinite" and "Relapse by Eminem. Briss has tons of unreleased work, and is still working on new music to put out. He currently has singles in the works with producer Lord Fubu, Captain Creep, Hello Terry, and Baby Genius, as well as 2 complete albums with Seafood Sam, and Hance. Briss has his head on his shoulders, and his mind in the right place for sure! If he keeps up this grind he's on there are no bounds for where he can take music. His plan is to use his platform to create oppurtunities for the youth, and essentially become the vessel between the mainstream world, and the youth. Sort of like how Twitter, Vine, and Instagram have done over the past few years. Seafood Sam is a genius on the mic! His bars are on another level, and his gritty style make you want to keep listening. Sam began rapping in 10th grade, but he didn't really take it serious until he graduated. He pays homage to Nate Dogg, Teena Marie, and 2009 Kid Cudi as big inspirations in his music career, but even though he looks to them for inspiration he has created his own style, and found the perfect flow to fit that style. The crazy thing about Sam is that music isn't even what he wants to pursue he just happens to be good at it. Sam is actually looking to pursue a career in Film. He wants to become a director, and eventually be the C.E.O of his own film studio, and open a skate park with his brother under the name "Rules Follow Us". Good news for us! Creating An Everlasting Influence

Eastside resident, and son of 1/2 of the 90's rap duo "The Twinz", Deon Williams Jr. is following in the foot steps of his father, but definitely not walking the same path. In fact Deon is able to create his own style, because he produces his own beats giving him room to be creative, and diverse with the sound of his music. Formely known as Lil Smoke Deon's recently changed his name to "HeyDeon", because he didn't like the correlation to smoking, and doing drugs, which he is actively against, and he also just wanted to be himself. Deon began his rap career 2 years ago, and since has released 3 projects entitled SamIam Vol. 1 & 2, and his most recent project "HeyDeon" in which you can tell he has found his niche. Pairing his unorthodox flow with his distinct style of production gives his music a certain head nodding quality that you have to appreciate. Deon has tons of unreleased music, visuals, and a new project he's been working on he's just waiting on the right time to put it out. We are just going to put it in the air, and say the public can expect new music from HeyDeon by Summer at the latest! Deon's main goal with his music is to influence others, and create a sound that will with stand the test of time. King of the Hill

Shon Hill is a name you need to get familiar with. He reps his city to the fullest, and has a dope style. Not your typical Long Beach rapper that's for sure. Shon started his rap career in high school at 16yrs old just messing around trying to get a crowd reaction at the occasional cyphers during lunch. He gives credit to LBC greats like Snoop, and Nate Dogg for inspiring him to pursue music, but though he finds inspiration in these artist he does not resemble them in any way shape or fashion. Shon has a distinct sound that is made up of a couple different flows, and clever wordplay displaying the image of his struggle, ambition, and will to succeed through his music. Some recommended tracks of his would have to be "Condo On A Cloud" "Too Far" and one of his older tracks titled "Long Beach" (2012). Check his progression, as well as the talent from the start from Shon, and you'll clearly see the potential for greatness. His goal for music is to become the biggest rap star in the world, and positively influence on how people view the hood environment. Shon wants the world to know that "the hood is not a dead end, but a humble beginning." Excited to see what Shon's new EP titled "Be Happy", which will be available February 20th will sound like.
